Sia thought that maybe she should have expected Stazi to drop everything to go fight pirates on Dac without discussing it with the other Triumvirs. She would not have expected Jessica to go with him.

She was sincerely glad that things had worked out, that they had helped the refugees and captured the pirates and saved the day. She was glad that word way making its way around and making them all look good. She didn't like the feeling of people going over her head. Master K'kruhk didn't share her outrage over the situation, but then it wasn't his forces- forces that were stretched incredibly thin at a terrible time- that were used in this way. It wasn't his best friend that sided with Stazi without talking to her, and then didn't come back right away with the others. He didn't have to regret putting up a fight about this and then know he looked terrible in private while the person who was making you look good in public was going to hold this over him.

That was what Sia was dealing with, along with some deeper feelings about the larger situation that she wasn't wanting to admit even to herself yet, and it was ruining her entire day. When she finally turned off the news reports in her office, she found herself contemplating her phone. If she was going to call, she did it on Sundays when she knew he was probably in Fandom, but she needed to talk to someone not here, who wouldn't automatically be against her.

So, she picked up and made a call.

"Okay, I feel like I missed a step here," Atton said. "What's the story with Wredd?"

"He's the one who destroyed my array, along with hijacking the signal to attempt to murder an Imperial Knight as a show of strength." Seriously, she hated the whole last... however many months. "He was stopped, but now he's targeting and killing other Sith in an attempt to return to the Rule of Two, and since he's doing our job for us when we- again- don't have the resources, we're having to let him for the time being."

That didn't go over well with a lot of people.

"That's not going to end well," Atton said. "You know it's not going to end well, right?"

She really should have a serious bad feeling about it, yes!

"It's not ideal, but it's what we have right now. The Sith as a whole are a bigger problem than one."

Atton eyed the governor, who was gesturing wildly, and the prince, who was yelling, and sighed.

"Spoken like someone who's never lived in a galaxy with just a couple of very powerful Sith in it," he said.

"Well the many Sith we currently have are infiltrating local governments. I don't see much other choice," she told him.

"To let another Sith murder all of them until he's so powerful you have a whole new headache on your hands?" Atton said. "I mean, it's a choice."

"What else am I supposed to do?" Sia asked, sounding tired. "We lost too many Knights at Coruscant and the recruits aren't trained enough to do anything like this. We don't have enough forces to do everything that's needed to be done even without sending anyone after Wredd."

"Let Jessica do what she wanted to do," Atton said. "You've got to trust your agents, Si."

"I didn't even get a choice to let her do anything," Sia said, sitting back in her chair. "It's hard to trust people when they take you out of the loop entirely, and then act like you're unreasonable for not wanting that."

"Did she ever bring it up before?" Atton asked.

"Not specifically. We've had some disagreements," she admitted. "Said she's always take the opportunity to help people immediately."

Atton sighed. "That girl would've made a great and incredibly annoying Jedi," he said.

"You're absolutely right," Sia nodded. "Which would be fantastic when we both agree." Times like this, not appreciated.

At least not at the moment. Later, probably.
