A bar in Baltimore- Saturday night

Sia hadn't cared much about her birthday in the past, and she wasn't sure she cared now. But, she really shouldn't have gotten to this birthday, and it was a milestone which meant nothing at home, and it was just days before graduation in Fandom. Once she'd managed to swing a couple days when no one would be looking for her that hard, she more or less had to come back, right?

A few people had been invited. Nothing big, and anyone was welcome to come and go as they pleased, though she had managed to find a bar that wasn't completely insane tonight.

And as she came back from opening a tab, Sia asked, "Why would they beg us not to order margaritas?"

"I'm sure the--" he glanced down at the menu, "Frozen Cucumber Cilantro Japeleno Margarita will be delicious."

And certainly not passive-aggressively spicy.

"That drink is going to be an adventure," Sia warmed.

"Oh, definitely," Cade said. "I only know what two of the words mean."

"Telling you probably wouldn't stop you, right?" she checked.

"Nope," Cade said cheerfully. "Life's about risk, right?"

"Then I'm going to just watch this happen," Sia decided.

Even empresses needed their fun, okay.

"I got enough to share," Cade said. "As the birthday girl, you're legally required to drink anything we put in front of you."

"I am absolutely sure that is not how that works," she said, shaking her head.

"Of the two of us, who spends more times in cantinas?" Cade asked. "Trust me, I know how this works."

He did not.

"You do know I'm not new to this, right?" Sia asked, amused.

"Drinking or my poodoo?" Cade teased.

[notconflicted]

"Both." She had equal experience there!

Cade laughed. "So what are you drinking, your Highness-ness?"

[notconflicted]

"A mojito," she said, and explained, "I looked at the menu and pointed."

This was what happened when she'd always made Atton order for her. She ended up with something basic.

"It has mint in it," Cade said after examining the menu. "Does that make it healthy?"

[notconflicted]

"Absolutely not," she said. "I think the alcohol in itself would negate any health benefits."

Just in case he thought drinking was part of a health regimen.

It was one of the food groups, along with "bar snacks!"

"Alcohol isn't bad for you!"

Cade. CADE.

"Cade."

Cade.

"It's not as bad as other things?" Cade tried.

We're not grading on a curve from deathsticks, Cade.

"While true, that doesn't make it good," she said.

And sipped her drink.

"Fair enough," Cade said just as his pitcher of margarita was slammed unceremoniously in front of him.

"Sure is green," he noted.

"Yes it is," Sia agreed. "I'm sure you can't wait to try it."

"If I only had a --"

The glass got slammed down next. "--that. Okay." He poured some out into his glass and took an incautious gulp.

Yeah. That was very, very spicy.

"And what's the verdict?" Sia asked, like she didn't know.

"It's so good," Cade lied.
