A bar in Baltimore- Saturday night

Sia hadn't cared much about her birthday in the past, and she wasn't sure she cared now. But, she really shouldn't have gotten to this birthday, and it was a milestone which meant nothing at home, and it was just days before graduation in Fandom. Once she'd managed to swing a couple days when no one would be looking for her that hard, she more or less had to come back, right?

A few people had been invited. Nothing big, and anyone was welcome to come and go as they pleased, though she had managed to find a bar that wasn't completely insane tonight.

And as she came back from opening a tab, Sia asked, "Why would they beg us not to order margaritas?"

"Fair enough," Cade said just as his pitcher of margarita was slammed unceremoniously in front of him.

"Sure is green," he noted.

"Yes it is," Sia agreed. "I'm sure you can't wait to try it."

The glass got slammed down next. "--that. Okay." He poured some out into his glass and took an incautious gulp.

Yeah. That was very, very spicy.

"And what's the verdict?" Sia asked, like she didn't know.

"It's so good," Cade lied.

"Can you describe it?"

The birthday girl got to make her own fun.

"Have you ever eaten really, really spicy soap?" Cade said. "It's like that but in a good way."

It wasn't in a good way.

"Why would I have eaten spicy soap?" Sia asked.

"I don't know your life," Cade said airily. "Maybe you like eating soap."

"I can tell you that I definitely have never done that," she said.

Really.

Cade shoved his drink over. "Here. You can replicate the experience."

"Oh no," she said, pushing it back towards him. "If you think it's so good, I couldn't possibly."

"I have tons," Cade said, "it's no problem to share a sip."

[notconflicted]

"Wouldn't go with my mojito." Actually it probably would, but Sia also wasn't crazy.

"Bet it would," Cade countered.

"I'll try it if Jessica does."

Sia.

"Deal," declared stupid, stupid Cade. "Sparkle too?"

[notconflicted]

"Fine. But you'd have to get him and Jessica."

Sparkle would do it, whereas Jess would save her.

"Easy."

Not at all easy.

[notconflicted]

"Very easy," she totally lied.

[shutupandkillsomething]

"I'm getting the feeling you're not being completely forthright," Cade said, taking another swig of his terrible drink.

"Why would you think that?"

If he thought this was her holding things back, just wait until he hit canon.

"Just a feeling," Cade said.

[notconflicted]

"Hmm. Interesting," she said, sipping her drink. "This is pretty good, you know."

Basic as hell but at least her mouth wasn't on fire.

"Not as good as mine," Cade said. "See? Sparkle loves it!"

Sparkle also helped Cade to steal a camel, so.
