The longer Atton had been gone, the more Sia had worried. He was perfectly capable, he didn't need her worrying, so she'd been Sia about it and gone about things like everything was fine.

And then earlier this week she got a message that told her that her instinct was correct. She made sure there was a bed ready in the medical ward, she made sure she'd be notified the instant that he arrived, and then she just had to wait.

It'd been a tense few days for her.

When he actually arrived, Sia got word pretty quickly. A medical team was on the way already since they didn't know what state he'd be in, though when she got there she saw that he'd made it to one of the inner hallways before they got to him. Of course he did.

Atton let out a long, drawn-out sigh, and returned his attention to the ceiling.

"Yeah."

"It doesn't necessarily mean anything," she told him. She was sure that wouldn't help, but it was still true.

I don't know what to do now. Tell me what to do.

Atton's eyes slid shut, pushing the thought down. Remember? That's what she kept needling you about.

"Probably not," he said, after a moment.

"What do you need right now?" Sia asked quietly.

"A hard drink, a soft pillow, and maybe some attractive Imperial Knights, since you're going to have them stalk me anyway?" Atton asked.

He really just wanted her to tell him what to do, but there was no way in seven Sith hells he'd ask.

"The first will have to wait at least until you've been in bacta, I'm sure, the second I can arrange, and I may be doing some of the stalking personally."

She worried.

"So at least the attractive part is handled," Atton said. "Nice, that's service."

"I'm glad I meet that standard in this difficult time," Sia said wryly.

"You're welcome," Atton said, shifting a little and wincing. "Any time you want a compliment."

"You must have a head injury if you're giving those away," she teased. "I should make sure they're readying a tank."

Because if they didn't ASAP she would raise hell.

"Ugh, that's what I've been missing in my life," Atton muttered. "The taste of kolto."

"Unfortunately necessary after falling off a cliff, hitting your head on a rock and nearly blowing yourself up," Sia pointed out.

"Yeah, I should've thought of that, probably," Atton sighed. "Before."

"It wouldn't have stopped you," she pointed out.

"You don't know that," said Atton, who was well aware that she was completely correct.

"Yes, I do," she said, with just the hint of a smile.
