Coruscant- Thursday

Sia woke up on Coruscant after a couple days in a bacta tank, and immediately she wanted to be caught up. She wanted numbers, she wanted to know how things looked, she wanted to know who made it and who didn't. They told her the Sith were gone from the galaxy, that Wredd had always hated the Sith and arranged all of this to exterminate them, which would leave only himself to be killed. Sia didn't entirely buy it. Thousands of years of intermittent fighting had proven that there were always Sith; this was just a break until they popped up again.

She'd take it, anyway.

Otherwise she mainly got to lay there. When you were one of the leaders of the galaxy and had just taken a cauterizing weapon to the chest they didn't seem to be in a rush to let her go from the hospital right away, and there wasn't much she could be done from here. So for now, she'd gotten the bed positioned so that she could sit up and breathe better, and the news was on as a distraction when it reality it only had her thinking more.

"How did we go from 'ugh, I don't want to go after Wredd' to him stabbing you, anyway?" Atton said.

"After enough problems I changed my mind and decided to ambush him while we had a chance. Technically he ambushed us back," she sighed. "And I never said 'ugh.'"

"You implied ugh," Atton said, coming to a stop by her bedside.

[notconflicted]

"It wasn't that I didn't want to, it was that I worried it would go as it did," she said. "Minus the stabbing."

[suitably_heroic]

"Could've gotten in the game sooner and cut it off at the pass," Atton said, shrugging lightly. "There still would've been stabbing."

A pause.

"How bad was it?"

[notconflicted]

"The battle or the stabbing?" she asked.

[suitably_heroic]

"Both?" Atton said. "I have time."

[notconflicted]

"The battle was worse than we thought going in. Many seem to think all of the hidden Sith cams out for this. If Darth Wredd hadn't been focused on killing his own kind until the end, I don't think we could have fought them all off," Sia admitted.

"As for this," she said, bringing her hand up to the spot on her chest where the lightsaber had gone, "he missed my heart, but there's some damage to a lung. I couldn't have gotten more immediate medical attention, and I'll be fine, it'll just be a bit."

"Crappy thing to get replaced, a lung," Atton said. "But even worse to regrow."

Beat.

"... Yes, personal experience."

"Instead of telling you not to die, should I add 'please don't need replacement organs' as well?" Sia asked.

[suitably_heroic]

"I'm not the one in the med center right now," Atton informed her. "You don't get to bully me today."

[notconflicted]

"Fine, I'll express my concern later." Not that she tended to hear about when he did get hurt. But when she did...

So instead she paused. "You really came all the way out here."

"I mean, Jess called and was like 'Sia just got stabbed in the chest with a lightsaber'," Atton said. "Seemed like a good reason for a house call."

Or he'd been, you know, extremely worried.

"Which sounds like just another day in your life," she pointed out, but admitted, "I'm glad you came."

"You getting stabbed in the chest with a lightsaber? No, that one doesn't happen every day," Atton joked, covering up his worry with a few more layers of sarcasm. "Glad to see you're not dead or replaced with a droid impersonator."

"I might not mind the droid impersonator," Sia mused.

"I hear all the cool emperors do it," Atton said, "Though I only know two, so what do I know?"

[notconflicted]

"Maybe it's something to look into when I need a break."

Like this wasn't going to give her a nice long break.

"All it needs to do is wave and look pretty, right?"

[notconflicted]

"If would help if it could argue," Sia said, realistically.

[suitably_heroic]

"You could just program it to stare at people like they were stupid," Atton said brightly.

[notconflicted]

"I'm starting to wonder what you think my job is," Sia said.

"Glaring at people until they know they're being stupid, mostly," Atton said. "Oh, and waving."
