A bar in Baltimore- Saturday night

Sia hadn't cared much about her birthday in the past, and she wasn't sure she cared now. But, she really shouldn't have gotten to this birthday, and it was a milestone which meant nothing at home, and it was just days before graduation in Fandom. Once she'd managed to swing a couple days when no one would be looking for her that hard, she more or less had to come back, right?

A few people had been invited. Nothing big, and anyone was welcome to come and go as they pleased, though she had managed to find a bar that wasn't completely insane tonight.

And as she came back from opening a tab, Sia asked, "Why would they beg us not to order margaritas?"

"Delicious," Sparkle said. In no way was he wheezing a little. Honest.

In fact, he was taking a second mouthful. While his nose was already running.

They make good choices!

"There's lots," Cade said. "I got a pitcher."

[myownface]

"I'm gonna kill that pitcher," Sparkle informed Cade. Very seriously. Already wondering if he had any good antacids at home.

They were the best at making choices.

"Then we can go to a zoo!"

Cade, no.

[myownface]

"There aren't any zoos open this time of night," Sparkle mused.

As if that would somehow stop them.

"That has not stopped us before!" Cade proclaimed. "Drink more grass. It'll make sense then."

[myownface]

"Things always make sense after more grass," Sparkle laughed, lifting up the glass and downing the rest of the contents. "God, this shit is terrible."

"It really is," Cade said, "and I bet it's even worse when it's not frozen any more."

[myownface]

"Yeaaaah, I cannot imagine wanting to put this in my face warm. Can. Not."

He waved a hand toward the pitcher, because stubbornness and free alcohol always won, dammit.

"So, what should we try to heist from the zoo this time around?"

"Something without sharp teeth," Cade decided. "Maybe a meerkat?"

[myownface]

"Hey, I can even fit a meerkat in my bedroom," Sparkle noted. "Way better than the tree goat plan that one time."

The tree goat plan had been great, except for how they'd actually basically succeeded at it. Where was the fun in actually succeeding?

"And meerkats are super cool. Bet you'd get lots of dates if you told 'em you wanted to take 'em home to see your meerkat."

...maybe not.

[myownface]

"Dudes dig meerkats?"

Sparkle was not entirely convinced, there. But he was still pretty game.

"Let's do it."

[shutupandkillsomething]

"We're dudes and we dig meerkats," Cade said. "I'm sure all the rest of 'em would."

[myownface]

... You know, that actually tracked.

"Sweet," Sparkle replied, grinning. "So after the party's out, let's go get ourselves a meerkat."

They were going to get their asses kicked by a zoo security dog or something.

"Maybe two, so we don't have to share."

This was a plan that Could Not Fail. Really.

[myownface]

"Oh, true," Sparkle said, pursing his lips as he mulled that over. "Maybe four, because they live in colonies and we wouldn't want them to be lonely."

[shutupandkillsomething]

"Maybe we can just take 'em all. The zoo can't have that many, right? Start an exotic pet business."

Hard to believe that Cade was a smuggler, huh?

Sparkle never would have guessed!

No, really, he wouldn't. How did he even successfully get his hands on his cargo?

"... Oh god I love that. Meerkats for everyone. Why is the zoo being so greedy anyway?"

"I don't know," Cade said. "It's really very rude."

Okaaay.

"We're doing people a favor by liberating the meerkats."

[myownface]

"We're improving society," Sparkle agreed, pouring himself another drink.

Good god, why did he do this to himself?

"They should put up a statue to us, really," Cade said.

Stop drinking the margaritas, Cade.

[myownface]

Hey, they had to get through this pitcher somehow!

"A statue depicting us, bravely carrying four meerkats to freedom," Sparkle mused. "I like it."

"We should demand it to be put up in the park by the duck pond," Cade decided.
