It'd been a tough couple weeks, and it didn't seem to be slowing down at all, and it was times like this that Sia was really glad she could just ask Jessica to come over and have something normal for a little while.

And until she showed up, Sia was dealing with a large dog who absolutely refused to get off her lap so she could leave the sofa. She could make him, of course, but he looked pretty happy right there, and at least someone should be.

Still wasn't going to stop her from saying things like, "Your Empress commands you to get up," and watching Vitor just demand pets.

"I suspect she's closer to our side than the guy named 'Darth'," Jessica said. "And honestly, if I had a reason to think I could find and stop someone like Wredd, I'd go right now. To be fair, I was trained by a guy who faked his death at least twice to go after bigger threats than he could with SHIELD."

"We're not going after Wredd," Sia said firmly. "He's doing our job for us by killing other Sith. Until the right time, we're going to let him."

"We're watching a terrorist go on a galaxy-wide murder spree," Jessica said, giving Vitor a few extra pats. "I'm not going to be okay with that just because his main targets are convenient for us."

"Sometimes being in charge means doing thing you aren't okay with. I'd rather go after Wredd and be done, too, but we can't handle him and the other Sith. We have to be strategic."

Also Sia was pretty okay with it.

Jessica believed in multi-tasking. She was also more idealistic than you might expect considering her life so far. She believed there was a better way than this.

She also realized that she literally couldn't win this argument today. "Maybe," she said. "But I'm going to keep speaking my mind about this. I am me."

"You and everyone else." It was fun to feel like she was getting it from all ends. "It doesn't change what the Triumvirate has decided it will be."

"I could try pestering K'Kruhk and Stazi too, if you think that would help my case," Jessica considered.

"Please don't, I can only imagine the talks I'd have to have with them after that." Worse, they'd decide to team up.

"I'll hold off," Jessica promised. "For now."
