Coruscant- Saturday
Master K'kruhk was late to the meeting, which was rare. It left Sia and Stalzi in the small conference room with Antares, acting head of what was essentially the strongest military they had, discussing what they knew of the Carreras Incident, as the media was calling it. The array had been destroyed, it had caused destruction on the planet, and later Sia was going to have to figure out a way to fight to try again for it because she felt it was important. Not now. Jao Assam and this Ania Solo person had fled with an apparent Mon Calamarian friend, but Sia had been able to act fast enough to have them tracked, and the Animus had picked them up earlier today. They were to be given medical treatment and all the comforts of home, and Sia requested a formal meeting with Ania, to answer a lot of questions.
When K'kruhk did arrive, he took a seat and the door slid shut behind him. "The Sith who was exposed on Cadomai Prime was killed by Darth Wredd. Reports confirm it. This is the same man responsible for the Carreras Incident."
"So it was him," Sia said. "He must have killed the Sith who infiltrated our legation on Ceitia Five as well. How are we going to respond to this?"
"I think the more troubling revelation here is that the Sith are systematically infiltrating governments across the galaxy. Who knows how many are out there," K'kruhk said.
"We can't lose focus on Darth Wredd," Antares suggested, maybe more strongly than he should have. "He publicly threatened us, destroyed the array, and tried to kill Master Yalta Val."
"Clearly Wredd has his own agenda apart from the Sith."
"Perhaps the question is, how should we respond?" Stazi said. "It may be unsavory, but Wredd is doing our job for us."
"What?" Antares stared at him, then looked to Sia. "Empress, we couldn't possibly…"
The room was silent, and Sia was acutely aware that everyone was focusing on her. They didn't have enough Imperial Knights to deal with Sith infiltrating governments and go after Wredd, who was proving himself to be a challenge. "We'll have to spin this somehow after his transmission," she said slowly, "but if we let Wredd take out the other Sith, then we'll be better positioned to deal with Wredd when the time comes."
She saw the look of outrage and disappointment on Antares' face, and she raised her eyebrows, daring him to challenge her. He didn't. It was perhaps the first time the Triumvirate themselves had agreed on anything this big, and the discussion continued without argument.
