Jedi Temple- Coruscant- Friday

The daily Triumvirate meetings were the least favorite part of Sia's day. Today's was taking place at the Jedi Temple on Master K'krunk's insistence, which was an irritating power move. On the other hand, Sia had other meetings to get to, and therefore had a set time where she had to leave, so she also wasn't going to complain.

At least until it devolved into yet another snippy argument over military spending, and her being accused of not wanting to spend more there because her Imperial Knights were already covered, and then the instant she knew she had to leave to get to her next location, she excused herself.

The argument continued all the way to the landing pad, with Admiral Stazi and Master K'krunk both following her.

"The point is the investment," Sia said calmly. "We're investing in the future of this government."

"We're investing in window dressings, not solid statecraft," Stazi returned. "Your communications array is a perfect example."

"You may be a gifted battlefield tactician, Stazi, but you are naive when it comes to governing an empire."

"Empire, is it?" Master K'kruhk noted. "I don't remember binding the Jedi to any Empire. We serve the new Triumvirate. Don't forget that, Empress."

Sometimes Sia really wished she could roll her eyes at something like that without it becoming an event. "You know what I mean. We can't hold the galaxy together through brute strength, nor should we try. Darth Krayt's Empire poisoned the very idea of initiatives like the Imperial Mission, but we need the galaxy's cooperation. They must agree to be governed. This array isn't our most expensive project, but it may be our most important. It will link the Outer Rim systems and connect us as one galaxy. Or don't you agree, Master K'kruhk?"

She didn't let him answer. They'd reached the landing pad, where Antares was waiting beside the speeder that would take her back to the Palace. And with a "Thank you, Master Draco," she stepped inside, with him following.

And as soon as he'd started them off, he just said, "That well, hmm?"

"Just drive," Sia sighed.
