Room 317- Wednesday afternoon

Sia could be more thrilled with having a... boyfriend? (or whatever they were since they'd never had that conversation) who was currently a German shepherd, but having spent enough time as a cat since she'd gotten here, she knew it probably wasn't great for him, either. Vitor, however, was so. damn. happy. to have a dog-shaped friend, whether Four felt the same way or not.

Basically Sia was trying to get through some messages from home while saying things like "Leave him alone, Vitor" and "Come up here and stop bothering him, Vitor" and getting completely ignored. Sigh.

[For one!]

"He's like me, but male, British, and apparently part of a group of interdimensional police or something," Jessica explained. "He's rounding up other Spider-People to fight these evil Inheritor guys. I guess if they're hunting us, we're either dangerous or delicious. We're betting on the former."

"At least four I know of who've been in Fandom," Jessica noted. "But beyond that, it's effectively infinite. I mean, how many different, distinct dimensions send people to Fandom? And that's an island with, what, several dozen people on it at a time? Scale that up to the rest of the country. Then the world. Then the galaxy, then your galaxy. It's an effectively infinite number, and even if only a tiny fraction of that is conducive to creating someone a lot like Peter, or me, or Spider-UK, it's a potentially unimaginable number. Minus the ones who've already died by the Inheritors' hands."

"They're traveling between worlds freely," Jessica said. "I guess in the case of multidimensional conquering, Fandom's just a big get. You take Fandom, it opens the rest of reality up even wider for you. You can take out a potential pocket of resistance early and have access to all kinds of fancy technology and magic to help you the rest of the way."

"That's why it's just me and whoever I can recruit instead of a big army. Even without Fandom, they're slaughtering Spiders. But if we can stop them, that's one advantage they can't take."

"I have a couple things over the less fortunate Spiders, of course," Jessica pointed out. "I know about them and have a portal device to get me from place to place quickly."

Which wasn't to say that the multiversal extermination of a specific totem wasn't horrifying. But if she didn't break it down to brashly confident logic, she'd have to consider the weight of what was ahead of her.

"Don't make me zombie up to defend myself," Jessica pleaded.

"I promise to be as safe as I possibly can be," Jessica said. "I have to. There's a lot resting on my shoulders right now, and I don't really intend to let all of reality down."

"Will do," Jessica promised. "I should get going. Time's kind of a big factor right now. But let me know if anything weird happens, okay?"

"Myself and the whole multiverse. Not a problem," Jessica said.

Once she hung up, she gave the diners a final look. "Just so you know, this is about to get weirder." She dialed in her next destination on her portal device and stepped through the blue portal that opened up.
