Room 317- Wednesday afternoon
Sia could be more thrilled with having a... boyfriend? (or whatever they were since they'd never had that conversation) who was currently a German shepherd, but having spent enough time as a cat since she'd gotten here, she knew it probably wasn't great for him, either. Vitor, however, was so. damn. happy. to have a dog-shaped friend, whether Four felt the same way or not.
Basically Sia was trying to get through some messages from home while saying things like "Leave him alone, Vitor" and "Come up here and stop bothering him, Vitor" and getting completely ignored. Sigh.

Hey, Sia, your phone was ringing!
(Seriously, that sophomore kid had crow's feet, and they were looking at her weird because she was in costume and looked her age. What the hell.)

"No. Should they have?"

"What I guess I'm saying is that you'll know it when you see it. But if all goes well, they'll never even get the chance to show up."

She was ignoring the looks from the server in the diner. "I'm on the road recruiting some help to handle things on my end. If that works out, I'll be there in a couple days, these vampire guys will be cut off, reality is saved, nobody even breaks a sweat."

"Oh, I'm also gonna send you this guy's number. If you don't hear back from me by Sunday, I may have been eaten and you should warn him that Fandom is still a target. He probably won't be able to help directly, but at least he'll know. For the multiversal war we're fighting. Good times."
And that was how Jessica talked about boys and phone numbers.

"Why do these Inheritors want Fandom?" Sia asked. "Can they get out from those different, distinct dimensions instead of people just getting in here?"
no subject
"That's why it's just me and whoever I can recruit instead of a big army. Even without Fandom, they're slaughtering Spiders. But if we can stop them, that's one advantage they can't take."

Which wasn't to say that the multiversal extermination of a specific totem wasn't horrifying. But if she didn't break it down to brashly confident logic, she'd have to consider the weight of what was ahead of her.

Yes, that was her trying to make it slightly better.

Once she hung up, she gave the diners a final look. "Just so you know, this is about to get weirder." She dialed in her next destination on her portal device and stepped through the blue portal that opened up.
