Socorro- Saturday afternoon
Sia's Master had been killed today, and that was only the start of her trouble.
There'd been a single Sith that had attacked the Imperial Mission, where Sia had been staying with Elke Vetter. One moment everything was fine, the next, parts of the Mission were on fire. Naturally- frustratingly- Elke's first priority was to protect the princess, and so she'd sent Sia out with a Twi'lek missionary named Astraal Vao, and she would meet with them later after fending off the Sith long enough for them to escape.
Just barely after getting out of the burning building, Sia had felt Elke die.
At first she'd had been ready to turn back and go after the Sith herself, but Astraal's cooler head had prevailed, and they'd continued through the city for too long. Sia could compartmentalize the anger and loss she was feeling, and was holding up physically better than her companion, but she could sense the Sith nearby. Astraal had managed to contact her brother for help, but first they had to get to Vendaxa, which meant finding a way to get there.
Their luck seemed to be improving when Sia caught sight of a beaten-looking ship preparing to pull up their ramp and take off, and she tugged on Astraal's arm to pull her along, calling, "Wait!"
The man closest to the bottom of the ramp stopped, and Sia didn't let him speak before continuing, "We require immediate passage on your ship. You'll be well reimbursed at the other end."
The man turned around, and Sia stopped in shock halfway up the ramp when she came face to face with Cade.
Only, he didn't seem to recognize her. So, not the Cade she was used to? They were from the same time, he had to be around here somewhere.
Her next thought was that unless something was very different between their universes, she'd just put herself in the hands of someone who would absolutely turn her in to the people she was fleeing from.
"Woah, passage to where?" he said. "Do you have the creds?"
Could she mind trick Cade? She wasn't sure, and didn't want to risk it. "Take us."
"Right. And you're supposed to be…?"
Sia felt the tickling of danger sense at the back of her neck, and looked back to see the Sith speeder nearing, with Darth Talon behind it.
"The creds don't matter, I will take you," Cade said suddenly, all but shoving Sia up the ramp. "Get your butts on board now!"
As soon as the ramp was up, Cade pushed past them up to the cockpit. There was a human man in the middle of a meal, and a Zeltron woman standing around, but they both sprang into action when Cade yelled, "Syn! Deliah! We've got passengers! Emergency takeoff procedures!"
"Cade, you know what that does to the engines," Deliah protested.
"Now!" he insisted, sliding into the pilot's seat.
"You want to maybe explain who these passengers are and why we're in such a damned hurry to get off this rock?" Syn demanded.
"Happy to," Cade said, "once we're off this rock."
A moment later they were taking off, and Sia tried not to feel too relieved as she felt the Sith presence getting further and further away until it was gone. She wasn't entirely sure of the situation she'd ended up in. She couldn't let her guard down yet.
Once they were safe, Cade stood and ushered Sia and Astraal to a cabin, with Deliah tagging along behind him. "This room should suit your needs. Feel free to explore the closet if you need a change of clothes. Mind telling me where I'm taking you?"
"Vendaxa," Astraal answered.
"Got a location or can I just drop you anywhere?"
"When you need to know, we'll tell you," Sia replied. "Just remember- your payment will come from our contacts there, so if you want to get paid, best see we arrive unharmed."
He just gave a little sort of laugh and turned to go, hitting the door controls to close them in on his way out.
